The Traxxas managed to tuck in what might sell for the high-put version of the Traxxas Mamba Monster extreme, and the ability to go as fast as 100 mph; and in subtle mockery of large scale RC vehicles, the signature Traxxas TSM stability management which significantly helps to harness its power.

Other features of the Traxxas XO-1 that are worthy of note include its sensors. They play a big role in sensitivity and maneuverability, re-enforced gear differentials, a 2.4GHz radio; not to mention a higher output version of the Monster extreme brushless motor and shock towers to take on impact and (a little bit of bashing) like a champ.

And this combination of features leaves me wondering; why can’t other manufacturers follow in the intimidating foot steps of Traxxas?

Pros

• The chassis is so thoroughly thought out.
• Its signature TSM feature can be turned off using transmitter controls.
• The design incorporates the brushless motor of the Mamba monster extreme.
• It can reach up to 100mph.

• You would need a full track to harness its full potential.

Traxxas 37054 (Premium Choice for the Money)

The Maisto R/C Rock Crawler Extreme is the perfect toy class RC vehicle. I suppose it is expected, especially from a company like Maisto, known for putting a stamp of exception and high-quality for each of its RC cars, but even then it appears that Maisto out did themselves.

So the question is quite vague in itself – and not because there aren’t great RC cars, but because there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to RC cars.

Do you want a great RC car? Factor in everything from your budget, to what other people are saying about the vehicle, and with thorough research on one hand and an eye on your budget on the other, you certainly cannot go wrong.

Also, try not to dabble into the no-name brand buys. They might seem promising, and offering you the world at absolutely no cost, but trust me, these manufacturers do not provide the same kind of reliability that well-known original manufacturers do – not because they do not want to, but because they aren’t particularly experienced in the field.

That said, The best RC car to buy, is the one that suits your current situation or need, and doesn’t bore a hole through your checking account. Before jumping into the vast array of features and outstanding specifications, also keep in mind that RC cars need a certain amount of care to run at their best and a neglected car wouldn’t do you any good anyway.

Again Faster isn’t always better; The ‘faster is better’ ideology is a fad.; especially if you are new to RC cars. If you are patient with yourself for long enough, you will ease into RC driving. However, driving fast should not be your focus as a newbie driver.

Finally, if you need help, demand it. But do it politely; if you don’t, all those RC enthusiast groups with eager collectors and racers will likely go to waste anyway. So you might as well exploit it.

But over all, your RC car is not immortal, and if you use it well enough – and without fear, it will only be a matter of time before the car is falling apart at the seams. This isn’t always a bad thing; just make sure you are not hesitant of using your RC car because you are afraid you might smash your precious possession to pieces. Everything has an expiry date anyway, so you can rest assured that your RC is no exception to the rule.
